Public Sector Electricity Consumption
Working with EdL's IT department and MoF, DSM Cell together with the international consultant, IIEC, target high-profile government facilities for energy audits. Facilities will be selected based on several factors, including average energy use, growth rate of energy use over the past 2 years, type and usage of facility.
Based on EdL's customer database and advice from MoF, the public sector customers are ategorized into 36 categories representing government ministries and independent government agengies equivalent to the ministry level. Electricity data from 2003 to 2006 has been used to analyse average annual electricity use, consumption growth and large consuming customer accounts. Figure 1 show ministries and government organizations with double digit growth in average annual electricity consumption between 2005-2006.
